The Philadelphia Eagles have officially named Kevin Patullo as their new offensive coordinator after Kellen Moore departed. While many anticipated the move, it was clear that Patullo had emerged as the frontrunner for the role well before the Super Bowl.
Although there were discussions around the possibility of hiring an outsider like Kellen Moore early in the 2024 NFL calendar year, the team’s decision to promote from within has been met with broad approval from both staff and fans.
Eagles Safeties Coach Joe Kasper Praises Patullo’s Preparation
Speaking with PHLY’s Zach Berman, Eagles safeties coach Joe Kasper offered high praise for Kevin Patullo, emphasizing that there were no concerns about a drop-off in performance. He spoke highly of Patullo’s readiness for the new role, stating:
"I don't know if there are too many coaches more detailed than Kevin — extremely detailed, extremely diligent, very sharp schematically, and he has a breadth of schematic knowledge," Kasper explained. "He’s worked in several different offensive systems and circles. Right now, I see him putting things together for us, helping put the guardrails on things to help get us to a point. He helps the staff a lot, both offensively and just structurally for the whole staff."
A Well-Deserved Opportunity
Kasper concluded by noting that empowering Patullo in a major role like offensive coordinator would be a well-deserved step for the coach. “It would be outstanding for him. Well-deserving and a great, great coach,” he said.
With Patullo at the helm, the Eagles' offense will likely continue to build on its strong foundation and continue striving toward greater success. As the team begins to shape its identity under the new coordinator, many believe Patullo’s extensive experience and keen understanding of offensive systems will bring the team closer to reaching its goals.
