The second season of the TV anime Kaiju No. 8 is known to be scheduled for premiere in 2025. Following the first season's finale, the sequel was quickly revealed with no format details, and Crunchyroll confirmed they will be streaming it. In 2025, a theatrical release of the first season's collection together with an original episode dubbed "Hoshina's Day Off" are planned.
Manufacturing I.G. will make a comeback, this time with Khara's creature designs. The news is made on August 5, the day Kafka Hibino was born.Asami Seto as Mina Ashiro, Wataru Kato as Reno Ichikawa, and Masaya Fukunishi as Kafka Hibino/Kaiju No. 8 comprise the main voice cast of the anime Kaiju No. 8.

Serialised in July 2020 on Shueisha's Shonen Jump+, the manga Kaiju No. 8 by Naoya Matsumoto has been compiled into 13 volumes as of July 2024. Viz Media, who granted it a North American English licence, explains the narrative as follows:
Kafka hopes to one day keep his pact with his childhood friend Mina to join the Japan Defense Force and fight by her side. But while she’s out neutralizing kaiju as Third Division captain, Kafka is stuck cleaning up the aftermath of her battles. When a sudden rule change makes Kafka eligible for the Defense Force, he decides to try out for the squad once more. There’s just one problem—he’s made the Defense Force’s neutralization list under the code name Kaiju No. 8.
