The anime Tohai - Ura Rate Mahjong Tohai Roku has released a new trailer along with details on the theme music. Along with Yu, Kei's boyhood friend, and Takatsu Noriyuki, the leader of the Takatsu-gumi, the new trailer also contains the main characters, Kei, Amina, and Dojima. October 2024 will see the anime's premiere.
The singer-songwriter Masayoshi Oishi will perform the opening theme song, and the idol group Taiyo to Odore Tsukiyo ni Utae will deliver the closing theme song.
The director of the animation is Jun Hatori, and the production company is EAST FISH STUDIO. The core cast of Tohai – Ura Rate Mahjong Tohai Roku was revealed in May, but the anime itself was announced back in January.

Koji Shinasaka created the manga series Tohai in Japan. Since June 2006, it has been serialised in AKITASHOTEN's Young Champion magazine throughout several series. Tohai: Cold Girl is the most recent installment, having been serialised in the magazine from September 2021. A live-action film for the franchise was also released in 2013.
