At this year's Otakon, the anime The Wrong Way to Use Healing Magic revealed its second season. Producer Norihiro Kurosawa, director Takahide Ogata, light novel author Kurokata, and voice actor Kentaro Ito (Tong) were on a special panel for the anime.
Shogo Sakata, who provides the voice of Usato, joined Kurokata. He felt the same way: When word leaked out about the production decision for Season 2 of "The Wrong Way to Use Healing Magic," I raced over! I am Shogo Sakata, Usato's voice! Ayaka Nanase as Suzune, Atsuko Tanaka as Rose, Saya Aizawa as Amako, Kengo Takahashi as Kazuki, and Akeno Watanabe as Blurin comprised the primary cast. Shogo Sakata as Usato. The first season, which consisted of 13 episodes and aired during the spring 2024 anime season, was animated by Studio Add and Shin-Ei Animation. Shogo Yasukawa contributed to the series composition and Kenji Tanabe worked on character designs alongside director Ogata. The soundtrack was composed by Seima Kondo and Hitoshi Fujima.
Kurokata first released The Wrong Way to Use Healing Magic as an online novel. It was first serialised in 2014 on the Shosetsuka ni Naro website, then from 2016 to 2020, Kadokawa's MF Books published it as a light book series featuring artwork by KeG. With a total of 12 volumes being released. A manga adaptation by Reki Kugayama, which began in April 2017 and is currently ongoing.
The official synopsis for the anime is:
Usato Mikuri, an ordinary
high school student, is on his way home when he is suddenly engulfed by
a magic circle along with the student council president, Suzune
Inukami, and his classmate, Kazuki Ryuusen.
When they come to, they find themselves in a different world. The three of them were supposedly summoned as “Heroes” to counter the Demon Lord’s army invading the kingdom, but only Suzune and Kazuki have the aptitude for being heroes. Usato was just caught up in the situation!
However, the situation
changes drastically when it becomes clear that Usato has an affinity for
“healing magic.” Rose, who claims to be the leader of the Rescue Squad,
appears and forcibly takes Usato away.
What awaited Usato there was days of training beyond his imagination in the form of a hellish ordeal—!
