A mixed-media project called Days With My Step Sister (Gimai Seikatsu) had its start on YouTube. Ghost Mikawa wrote the series' light novel, while Hiten did the illustrations. Media Factory started publishing it in January 2021 under the MF Bunko J label. In July 2021, Yumika Kanade's manga adaption was made available online in Kadokawa Shoten's Shonen Ace Plus.

It was also disclosed that CITOCA composed the show's music. The premiere is scheduled for July 2024.The Days with My Step Sister project began as a voice-over series of YouTube videos, with the actors from the videos playing themselves again in the anime. Yumika Kanae created a manga adaption based on the light novels.

At Studio DEEN, the anime is directed by Tsutomu Ueno. The series scripts are written by Mitsutaka Hirota (Edens Zero, Bibliophile Princess), while character designs are created by Manabu Nii (Akiba Maid War, The Day I Became a God).

The protagonist of the books is Yuta Asamura, who gains Saki Ayase, a stunning younger stepsister, when his parents remarry when he is still in high school. In addition, Saki is the best student in her class. Yuta is confused about how to be a good elder brother, while Saki is starved of affection from his family yet constantly tries to be by himself. They eventually grow to feel at ease with one another.

The first novel by Kadokawa was released in January 2021, and on January 25th, the tenth novel volume was sent. The light novel series My Friend's Little Sister Has It In for Me! was written by Mikawa before.

A manga adaptation is being drawn by Yumika Kanade. On September 26, the third volume of the manga was shipped.

Days With My Step Sister is based on the MF Bunko J light novel series, which contains 10 volumes as of January 2024 and was written and illustrated by Ghost Mikawa and Hiten. The series started publication in 2021.Yen Press describes the premise as:

After his father remarries, Yuuta suddenly finds himself with a new stepsister: Saki, the greatest beauty at school.
