A teaser image for Classroom of the Elite Season 4 was released earlier today along with an official announcement. After the anime's third season concluded in March, the first year's plot was finally resolved, and Ayanokoji could now begin the second year. In the image are him and a fresh group of people dressed in uniforms:
In 2017, the anime's first season debuted, departing from the original work. The second and third seasons, which were jointly announced, were also produced by Studio Lerche. The third season was rescheduled for January 2024 instead of 2023. The anime series Classroom of the Elite features the following main cast:

The anime is based on the same-titled novel by Shogo Kinugasa, with illustrations by Tomose Shunsaku. Year 1 was serialised in May 2015 and collected into 14 volumes by September 2019. Year 2, the follow-up, started in January 2020 and is still going strong. Both arcs are now being adapted into manga, with Shia Sasane doing the illustrations for Year 2 and Kawaisounako doing so for Year 1.
The manga and the original light novel were both licensed by Seven Seas Entertainment. The first book of Year 2's plot is characterised as follows:
As Ayanokouji and his classmates begin their second year at the Advanced Nurturing High School, they’re greeted by a fresh gauntlet of exams and a fresh batch of rather unique first-year students. They’ll have to get to know each other quickly, because the first special exam pairs the first-years with the second-years on a written test—with only the second-years facing expulsion if their team performs poorly!
