Demon Lord, Retry! R Anime reveals the new visual and main trailer for the September 28 premiere

The main trailer, key visual, and Japan premiere date for Demon Lord, Retry R anime were unveiled. From Studio GEKKOU, the animation is produced. Cruchyroll also declared that they will be available for streaming, however the platform's launch date has not yet been disclosed.

The opening theme song, "Ashita Sekai ga Owaru Toshite mo," by ASCA, and the closing theme song, "Clanssi:c feat. Yuho Kitazawa," by MIMiNARI, are both featured in the new trailer:

At studio EKACHI EPILKA, Hiroshi Kimura directed the first season. During the summer 2019 anime season, it aired for twelve episodes. For the sequel, Katsuhiko Takayama wrote the script, Minori Homura designed the characters, and Kazuomi Koga took over as director.

Kenjiro Tsuda is reprising his role as Hakuto Kunai, while the rest of the cast includes:

  • Azumi Waki as Akane Fujisaki
  • Momo Asakura as Aku (replacing Kanon Takao)
  • Aina Suzuki as Luna Elegant (replacing Kaori Ishihara)
  • Iori Noguchi from =LOVE as Eagle (replacing Akari Kito)
  • Wataru Komada as Isami Tahara (replacing Tomokazu Seki)
  • Minori Suzuki as Mink (replacing Chiyo Ousaki)
  • Mirai Tachibana as Organ (replacing M.A.O)
  • Kentaro Kumagai as Zero Kirisame (replacing Showtaro Morikubo)

Kurone Kanzaki's light novels Demon Lord, Retry! (Maou-sama, Retry!) served as the inspiration for the anime. The book was first released with artwork by Koji Ogata under the Monster Bunko label of Futabasha. After three volumes, it was transferred to M Novels, with Makoto Iino taking over the drawings. Additionally, there is an Amaru Minotake-illustrated manga adaptation. Manga and light novels were licensed by J-Novel Club in English, and animation could be streamed on Crunchyroll.

The story follows Akira Oono as he ends up as the last boss in a video game, which was his favorite character anyway. He begins looking for a way to return to his original world, meeting a bunch of different characters along the way.
