On Tuesday, the opening theme song and a new trailer for the anime Tying the Knot With an Amagami Sister were unveiled. The opening song, which can be heard in the most recent trailer, is being performed by the female group Momoiro Clover Z. The 24-episode anime series is scheduled to debut on October 1st.
In June, the show unveiled the new cast members as well as a pivotal image. The animation at Studio Drive (To Your Eternity Season 2) is directed by Yujiro Abe (Konosuba: An Explosion on This Wonderful World!), with Hiroshi Watanabe (Meganebu!) serving as associate director. Character design for the series is done by Haruka Iizuka (Sugar Apple Fairy Tale), while Yasuko Aoki (My Tiny Senpai) writes the script. The principal cast consists of:
- Ryota Suzuki as Uryu Kamihate
- Sumire Uesaka as Yae Amagami
- Kaede Hondo as Yuna Amagami
- Shion Wakayama as Asahi Amagami
- Nana Mizuki as Mahiru Anekoji
- Chika Anzai as Shirahi Tsuruyama
The manga written by Marcey Naito, who once served as assistant to Negi Haruba (The Quintessential Quintuplets), served as the inspiration for the anime version of Tying the Knot With an Amagami Sister. The manga series is being published in English by Kodansha USA and started serialisation in Kodansha's Weekly Shonen Magazine in April 2021. The narrative is explained as follows:
Uryu Kamihate has had a rough start to life, but plans to forget it
all by achieving his dream—matriculating into medical school. But when
he arrives at his new foster home, a working shrine, his dream of a
quiet place to study goes up in smoke. Not only will he be living with
the three beautiful, lively Amagami sisters—but he learns that he must
marry one of them and take over the temple!
