The Dangers in My Heart (Bokuyaba) Releases Official Novel with Four Tales

 


Norio Sakurai, the author of The Dangers in My Heart (Bokuyaba), will oversee the official novel's publication. The story will be written by Kota Nozomi, with artwork by Sune. On September 25, the book will be published in Japan. It will contain four stories:

  • “I Want to Play a Card Game” – The rare card Ichikawa received in elementary school, and the mysterious tall woman he saw in the park
  • “Moeko Sekine Takes a Step Forward” – The relationship between Ichikawa and Yamada from Moeko’s perspective. What are Moeko’s views on romance?
  • “Kenta Kanzaki Tries to Touch” – After a double date with Ichikawa and Yamada, did the distance between Kanzaki and Hara shorten?
  • “Yamada’s Mom Wants to Make Him Confess” – One day Ichikawa visits the Yamada household, and Yamada’s mom tells the secret story of her relationship with her husband for the first time.

In addition to the four storylines, they hint that the plot may conclude ten years later. Norio Sakurai's illustration for the novel's cover was also disclosed.




The manga adaptation of Norio Sakurai's original work, The Dangers in My Heart. The anime is available for streaming on HIDIVE, while Seven Seas Entertainment holds the English licensing rights. They explain the narrative as follows:

Fascinated by the macabre, Kyotaro fantasizes about acting on his twisted thoughts to the detriment of his classmates. His heart was dark until an encounter with Anna lit a spark within it in a classic tale of boy meets girl.

 The anime adaptation of The Dangers in My Heart (Bokuyaba) was animated by Studio Shin-Ei Animation. Both seasons were directed by Hiroaki Akagi. Anime topped our rankings in the Winter 2024 season, winning 13 honours in our seasonal rating and accomplishing the first-ever season sweep of the weekly charts.

In the follow-up, the original cast members Hina Yomiya and Shun Horie reprised their roles as Kyotaro Ichikawa and Anna Yamada. Episode 13 of the second season aired on March 30.
