Rascal Does Not Dream of Santa Claus Anime reveals TV format and premiere date for 2025.

The forthcoming University Arc, which will feature the Rascal Does Not Dream of a Santa Claus title, has a 2025 broadcast date, according to the Rascal Does Not Dream series. Although the anime debuted a teaser trailer in January of this year, we are only now becoming aware of the TV anime format.

Written by Hajime Kamoshida and drawn by Keji Mizoguchi, Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai (Seishun Buta Yarou wa Bunny Girl Senpai no Yume wo Minai) is a Japanese light novel series. The serialisation is still going strong, having started in April 2014. Tsugumi Nanamiya also adapted it into a manga series, which lasted from December 2015 to 2018.

Yen Press deacribes the plot of Rascal Does Not Dream of Santa Claus novel as:

Sakuta thought he’d already accomplished step one: Find Touko Kirishima. The next step was convincing her to help protect Mai, but that proved easier said than done. In the process, however, he makes a confusing discovery: There are multiple Touko Kirishimas! The Touko he knows may not actually be the person he’s looking for! With clues from his friends’ prophetic dreams, he gets closer to figuring out exactly what danger awaits Mai, but he’ll have to sort through the fake Kirishimas and determine who’s the real deal before it’s too late…

Yen Press licensed the Rascal Does Not Dream of a Knapsack Kid novel and describes the plot as:

March has arrived, meaning there’s only one month left in the third term. Mai’s graduation has come and gone. This might be a time for change, but that isn’t nearly enough to explain why Sakuta meets a little girl who looks just like Mai did when she was a child actress. Before he can even begin to unravel this fresh mystery, his father calls. Their family hasn’t lived together since Kaede was bullied. Two long years later, their mother says she wants to see her daughter. What’s changed, and what’s stayed the same? There’s only one way to find out…

The franchise has a 13-episode TV anime adaptation by studio CloverWorks, as well as three sequel movies:

  • Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dreaming Girl
  • Rascal Does Not Dream of a Sister Venturing Out
  • Rascal Does Not Dream of a Knapsack Kid
