A Wild Last Boss Appeared TV Anime Adaptation declared

The NBCUniversal Japan Anime Industry Panel at Anime NYC has announced that A Wild Last Boss Appeared! will receive an anime adaptation. Additionally, a picture of the primary character Lufas Maphaahl was made public.

Under the supervision of Akio Kazumi, Studios Passione and HAYABUSA FILM are collaborating to animate the series. Character design and principal animation director Satsuki Hayasaka will work alongside series composer Kunihiko Okada. The person in charge of music production is Yasuharu Takanashi.

The light novel and manga series have been licensed into English by J-Novel; the latter was revealed in January of this year. The following sums up the plot:

Lufas Maphaahl rules the land of Mizgarz with an iron fist. Mankind stands no chance of prevailing against the most powerful being in the world and her army of loyal minions—until a band of heroes bests her in an epic battle, sealing her soul away for all eternity.
But this is just another day in Exgate Online. Lufas is a player’s avatar and a legend among fans. She even outshines the official last boss, the Devil King. So it’s no big deal to the boy behind Lufas when he logs off after his epic defeat—thankfully, it won’t really be eternity until he can play again. But he’s met by a strange offer, and when he accepts, he’s sucked into the game world and awakens…in Lufas’s body!
Two hundred years have passed since Lufas’s defeat, and Mizgarz now lives under the shadow of the Devil King. How will our hero fix his mess? And can he save the world from the one being he never subordinated: the last boss?

A wild last boss appeared! The original version of (Yasei no Rasu Bosu ga Arawareta!) was published online by Firehead on the Shosetsuka ni Naro website. Before Earth Star Entertainment bought the rights and released it under its Earth Star Novel banner, it was published there from October 2015 to April 2019. It produced nine volumes in total from February 2016 and April 2019. Since June 2017, a manga adaptation featuring the artwork of Tsubasa Hazuki has been serialised in the Comic Earth Star magazine.
