A teaser trailer and the September 28 debut date for the Uzumaki anime were disclosed. HBO's Max will stream the anime, which will also show on Adult Swim's Toonami programming block.
Studio Drive will animate the Uzumaki anime, which is being produced by Production I.G (USA) and Adult Swim. Colin Stetson is the composer and Hiroshi Nagahama is the director. October 2022 was the original release date for the anime adaptation; however, it was postponed to allow for better quality and homage to the source material. Last year, a promotional video was made public.
Junji's manga was originally released in 1998. There are three volumes total with nineteen chapters. Viz Media obtained a license to publish the manga in English.

A
mysterious spiral shape, Uzumaki, haunts the small Japanese coastal
town. Citizens suddenly become attracted to spiral-shaped objects.
Shuichi Saito’s father is one of them. He becomes increasingly obsessed
with spirals – snails, whirlpools, as well as decorations on pottery.
This by itself isn’t a huge problem, but something more sinister is
lurking. When his dead body is found positioned in a spiral shape, the
town must prepare for the worst…
