Manga Kujima Utaeba Ie Hororo to Become an Anime
Following the publication of the fifth volume on May 10, it was revealed that an anime adaptation of Akira Konno's humorous manga series Kujima Utaeba Ie Hororo was in the works. As of this writing, no additional information regarding the anime's format has been made public.
Konno wrote and drew the manga, which ran in Shogakukan's Monthly Shonen Sunday from September 2021 to April 2014. The first of its five volumes was published in April 2022. The series' last collection to be published is the just-announced fifth book.
Translating as "If Kujima Sings, the House Gurgles," Kujima Utaeba Ie Hororo tells the tale of Arata Kouda's meeting with Kujima, a strange creature that resembles a bird. Kujima is starving, so Arata invites him to take it home. However, Kujima remains longer than expected at the Kouda residence because his older brother failed the entrance examinations.
The comic was included in Takarajimasha's Kono comic ga Sugoi! list of the best manga for male readers in 2023 and was also nominated for the 2022 Next Manga Award in the print manga category.
Konno created a unique drawing to commemorate the launch of the Kujima Utaeba Ie Hororo anime adaptation:
