Act 2's key image and trailer were unveiled in Code Geass: Z of the Recapture. Act 2 is slated to open in Japanese theatres on June 7. On May 10, the first installment of the anime film series premiered. The story will be covered by a 12-episode anime series that Disney is anticipated to start streaming in June.
The plot of Code Geass: Z of the Recapture is ascribed to Ichiro Okouchi and Goro Taniguchi. At Sunrise Studio, Yoshimitsu Ohashi is directing, and Noboru Kimura is composing the series. Once more, Takahiro Kimura and Hidekazu Shimamura are credited with creating the original character designs for CLAMP's film. The theme music, "Running in My Head," is by MIYAVI and appears in the trailer.
The Z of the Recapture is a new story with new characters even though it is a part of the Code Geass franchise. The story revolves around two brothers, Rose and Ash, who are hired soldiers and engage in combat with the 100th Emperor of Britain. A significant role in the plot will be played by Sakuya Sumeragi (voiced by Reina Ueda), who bears a resemblance to Kaguya Sumeragi from the original series. Makoto Furukawa provides the voice of Ash, and Kohei Amasaki plays Rose. The ensemble also consists of:

Sunrise is the creator of the original anime series Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion. Ichiro Okouchi authored the screenplay, while Goro Taniguchi directed it. Character designs were originally created by the CLAMP group. There were 25 episodes in the first season, which ran from October 2006 to July 2007. Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2, the sequel, featured 25 episodes and ran from April to September of the same year. Among the various OVA side stories in the franchise, Code Geass: Akito the Exiled, which lasted for five episodes, is particularly well-liked.
Between 2017 and 2018, a three-film film that summarised the events of the first and second seasons was published. In addition to adapting the two seasons, the plot took place in a different universe with distinct happenings. The three films of the trilogy are called Glorification, Transgression, and Initiation. In 2019, an original sequel film called Code Geass: Lelouch of the Resurrection was released. There are also several light novels and comics in the franchise.
