The official anime version of TOUGEN ANKI, dubbed TOUGEN ANKI: Legend of the Cursed Blood, is scheduled to debut in 2025. A teaser trailer and image were unveiled, along with the members of the primary cast.The main character Shiki is shown in the image.
The lead vocalist consists of:
Shiki Ichinose, played by Kazuki Ura (Isagi Yoichi in BLUE LOCK)
the main character who inherited an Oni's blood. When a "Momotaro" unexpectedly attacks Shiki, his entire world is turned upside down, and he learns the truth about his true Oni ancestry. After learning of this, he enrols in Rasetsu Academy, an Oni training facility.
Hiroshi Kamiya as Naito Mudano (Ranpo Edogawa in Bungo Stray Dogs, Levi Ackerman in Attack on Titan)
A teacher at the Rasetsu Academy. Naito is a rationalist who hates wastefulness and inefficiency.
Jin Kogasaki played by Koutaro Nishiyama (Yoshiharu Hisomu in Kiznaiver, Atsushi Kinugawa in Cute High Earth Defence Club Love!)
a Shiki classmate at Rasetsu Academy who is recognisable by her constant black mask wear. Jin possesses a contentious relationship with Shiki, marked by frequent clashes and disagreements.
Written and illustrated by Yura Urushibara, TOUGEN ANKI is a manga series published in Japan. Since June 2020, it has been serialised in Weekly Shonen Champion, a publication published by Akita Shoten. With the release of Volume 20, on May 8, more than 3 million copies of the manga have now been read.
The manga will be published in English by Yen Press starting in September of this year. Here is how they explain the plot:
Shiki Ichinose’s blood is Oni, and his father’s is Momotaro. Normally, those with Momotaro blood hunt the Oni – but Shiki’s fathre refused to kill him as an infant. Instead, he adopted Shiki and raised him despite the rebellious attitude and dangerous temper that come with Oni blood. When a member of the Momotaro Agency kills Shiki’s father, Shiki vows to avenge him. But as he hones his abilities and learns to control his Oni blood, will he be strong enough to survive the dangers waiting for him…?
