An anime adaption of the Ikoku Nikki manga

 Studio Shuka, creator of Natsume's Book of Friends and The Case Files of Jeweller Richard, is adapting the Ikoku Nikki manga series into an anime. Although the exact release date is yet unknown, the following crew information has been made public.




Director: Miyuki Oshiro (unit director/storyboard artist for Natsume's Book of Friends Movie 2, director of an episode of To Your Eternity) sequence Kohei Kiyasu, a voice actor for My Home Hero, wrote the script and composition.Princess Jellyfish's character designer, Kenji Hayama 

Kensuke Ushio (Chainsaw Man, Words Bubble Up Like Soda Pop) is the musical artist.
Feel Young, a magazine published by Shodensha, serialised Tomoko Yamashita's Ikoku Nikki from 2017 until 2023. Eleven volumes were created from the total of fifty-four chapters. The story follows Makio, a 35-year-old novelist, as he eventually takes in her orphaned niece, Asa. The two have to adjust to life together, even though they may not be ready for it.


The manga has received several nominations, including the 28th Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize and the 12th and 13th Manga Taisho, where it placed fourth and tenth, respectively.

A live-action film based on the Ikoku Nikki manga is in the works and will star Yui Aragaki, Ikoi Hayase, and Koji Seto. June 2024 is the scheduled launch month.
