The production staff behind the highly anticipated Mieruko-chan live-action movie has officially unveiled a new trailer and announced the release date: June 6, 2025. The KADOKAWA Production company will be screening the film in Twins theaters across Japan, generating significant excitement among fans of the series.

The live-action film adaptation of the popular Mieruko-chan manga stars a talented cast, including:

Yoshihiro Nakamura Directs Mieruko-Chan Live-Action Film
The Mieruko-chan live-action movie is being directed by Yoshihiro Nakamura, who is also writing the film’s script alongside Izumi Tomoki. Nakamura-san shared in a previous interview that his interest in adapting Mieruko-chan into a live-action film began during the COVID-19 pandemic when he was introduced to the manga. He was instantly captivated by the series’ unique ability to blend horror and comedy, and he promises that the movie will be "unlike anything anyone’s seen before."
Mieruko-Chan Manga and Anime Origins
Mieruko-chan is written and illustrated by Tomoki Izumi, first serialized online via Kadokawa’s ComicWalker in November 2018. The series has gained a massive following, and the English version of the manga is published in North America by Yen Press. In addition to the live-action movie, Studio Passione brought Mieruko-chan to life in a 12-episode TV anime adaptation, which has been widely praised for its eerie and comedic tone.
