In honour of its fifth anniversary, the Quintessential Quintuplets anime has unveiled a new music video that allows viewers to relive the whole narrative in roughly four and a half minutes. The Nakano sisters—Kana Hanazawa as Ichika, Ayana Taketatsu as Nino, Miku Ito as Miku, Ayane Sakura as Yotsuba, and Inori Minase as Itsuki—perform the theme song from the video, "Because It Was You."
Tezuka Productions animated the first season of the anime adaption of The Quintessential Quintuplets, which ran from January to March of 2019. After taking over, Bibury Animation Studios launched the second season in 2021. The last film was likewise animated by Bibury Animation Studios, and SHAFT produced the TV special that debuted in theatres in Japan in September 2023. A brand-new television program is scheduled to premiere in Japan on September 20, covering Futaro’s honeymoon.
The manga, which was serialised in Kodansha's Weekly Shonen Magazine and collected into fourteen volumes, was drawn by Negi Haruba between August 2017 and February 2020. He is overseeing the adaptation of the light book and drew an epilogue chapter as well. The anime is streamed on Crunchyroll.
