An extra eight voice cast members, details on the theme songs, and a second key image for Seirei Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles Season 2 were unveiled by the anime. The first trailer for the anime, which is scheduled to debut in October 2024, was already released. The opening theme song, "Auftakt," will be performed by Aguri Onishi, and the closing song, "Haru Machi Uta," by Nanaka Suwa.
The first season of the anime adaption, which lasted for 12 episodes in the summer of 2021, was also animated by TMS Entertainment. Yasuyuki Yamazaki was in charge of the music, Kyoko Yufu was in charge of character design and chief animation director, and Osamu Yamasaki was in charge of series composition.
Japanese light novel series Seirei Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles written by Yuri Kitayama with illustrations by RIV. It was serialized on the Shosetsuka ni Naro website from February 2014 to October 2020, while Hobby Japan started publishing the series under its HJ Bunko imprint in October 2015.
