Haigakura Anime reveals the main trailer and more actors

The primary trailer for Haigakura anime was shown, coupled with the news that five more voice actors will be joining the cast. Junichi Yamamoto is directing the animation at Studio Typhoon Graphics. October will see the anime's premiere.

"Phoenix" by Hikaru Makishima will be the closing song, and "Chaser" by MADKID is the opening theme song used in the main trailer (which you can also watch on X if it is region-locked).

Among the new voice cast for Haigakura are:

  • Junko Takeuchi as Ichiyo (child)
  • Akira Sasanuma as Shungei
  • Tatsumaru Tachibana as Gaishi
  • Atsushi Tamaru as Gas Mask
  • Kazutomi Yamamoto as Usagi Kamen

The main cast of the anime is Takeo Otsuka as Ichiyo's elder self and Kaito Ishikawa as Tenko. A few other members of the cast were previously shared.

In addition to Junichi Yamamoto, the director, Yuu Murai, is in charge of the series composition; Masaki Sato is in charge of character design; and Yuhki Kurihara is in charge of music for Haigakura animation.

The anime Haigakura is based on Shinobu Takayama's identically titled Japanese manga. From January 2008 until May 2015, Ichijinsha's Comic Zero Sum WARD magazine published it in serial form. In September 2015, it was moved to Zero-Sum Online, where it still exists today.

The manga takes place in a universe where several lesser gods and four gods who once served as pillars for the planet have gone. As a result, kashikans—those tasked with apprehending fugitive gods and re-establishing order in the universe—rose to prominence. The main character, Ichiyo, reluctantly becomes a kashikan to free his foster father, who was caught to replace the four gods who left. Ichiyo’s main goal is to recapture the gods and bring back the peaceful life he had before.
