The first trailer for the anime film crossover between Baki Hanma and Kengan Ashura has been released, along with a new key image, theme song, and list of all the participants. On June 6, the animation will be available on Netflix. In addition to Baki and Ohma, Saw Paing Yoroizuka vs. Kaoru Hanyama and Raian Kure vs. Jack Hammer are scheduled to take place. The new teaser below features Atarashi Gakko's "Fly High," which serves as the theme tune.
At Anime Japan 2024 this year, the crossover anime film was revealed. The updated main visual displays every fighter.
Concerning Hanma Baki
The original manga for Hanma Baki was written and illustrated by Keisuke Itagaki. It appeared in Weekly Shonen Champion from 1991 to 1999 and was collected into 42 volumes. The same magazine published three sequel manga series: Baki, Baki Hanma, and Baki-Dou. Last but not least, the fifth series, also called Baki-Dou (albeit spelt differently), debuted in October 2018 and has now revealed that it will have an anime adaptation.
The most recent revival debuted in 2018 with the 26-episode series Baki, which was produced by Double Eagle and TMS Entertainment. Baki: In the spring of 2020, the Great Raitai Tournament Saga began. Baki Hanma, which is often referred to as Baki: Son of Ogre, is the third installment of the reboot. And Baki Hanma Season 2 picked up right after the first season.
Concerning Kengan Ashura
Yabako Sandrovich wrote the script and Daromeon did the illustrations for the Kengan Ashura manga. The manga appeared in Shogakukan's Ura Sunday magazine from 2012 until 2018. The same author/artist team began a sequel, Kengan Omega, in 2019 and it is still going strong.
In 2019, LARX Entertainment produced the first anime season, which was split into two 12-episode portions and aired on Netflix. Kazuaki Morita created the character designs, and Seiji Kishi directed the film. Yasuharu Takanashi wrote the music, and Makoto Uezu was in charge of the series composition. The first installment of the second season debuted in September 2023, and the second installment is scheduled to debut in August of current year.
Given that Netflix is already streaming both series, it seems reasonable that they will also be streaming the HANMA BAKI VS KENGAN ASHURA collaboration anime.
