Ace of the Diamond Act II Anime Sequel formally declared

The news of an anime sequel for Ace of the Diamond Act II (Season 3) broke on Saturday. Yuji Terashima, the creator of the series, created a fresh drawing to mark the announcement:

The 52 episodes that made up the most recent season of Ace of the Diamond were produced by the animation studio Madhouse and aired from 2019 to 2020. At this point, no additional information has been released about the cast or crew of the sequel. During the Fall 2013 season, the anime Ace of the Diamond debuted and aired for 75 episodes. For the first two seasons of the show, Production I.G. co-produced it; however, for Season 3, Madhouse took over as the main animation company.

The manga, which Terajima wrote and illustrated, served as the inspiration for the Ace of the Diamond anime. The manga was originally serialised for nine years, from 2006 to 2015, and 47 volumes were published throughout that time. Ace of the Diamond: Act II, the follow-up, started serialisation later in 2015 and concluded on volume 34 in May 2023. With more than 44 million copies in print at this writing, the Ace of the Diamond manga is among the all-time most popular manga (rank 69th).

Currently, Crunchyroll offers all of the anime's seasons with English subtitles (region availability may vary). Additionally, Kodansha USA has made the manga readable in English digitally through their official K Manga mobile app, which also provides a description of the series:
