Girls’ Frontline Anime Gets New Trailer, January 7 Premiere
Girls’ Frontline anime adaptation revealed a new trailer, ahead of the January 7 release date. The new trailer also features the opening theme song for the anime “BAD CANDY” by yukaDD (; ´ ∀ `).
Asahi Production (Heaven’s Design Team) is animating the series, with Shigeru Ueda as the director. Hideyuki Kurata is doing series composition, while Masaki Yamada (Ultraman) is in charge of character designs. Takashi Watanabe (Manaria Friends) is composing the music. The anime previously revealed the opening theme by TEAM SHACHI titled “HORIZON” in the 2nd trailer.
Girls’ Frontline is a gacha game from a Chinese-based developer MICA Team, first released in 2016. The game was released in Japan as Dolls’ Frontline since the original name was already taken. A manga adaptation of the game exists, as well as a chibi anime titled Girls’ Frontline Chibi Theater.
The story is set in the future, where T-Dolls fight in a war instead
of humans. The majority of the world is inhabitable, and most of
humanity is dead. Even though the dolls were once living a quiet life,
they now must adapt to the new world.
Nozomi Yamane is voicing
M16A1, while Yukari Tamura is M4 SOPMOD II. In addition, Haruka Tomatsu
is voicing M4A1, and Emiri Kato is ST AR-15. Each of the characters is
named after a weapon.
